First Friday Studio Sessions
Featuring an Archival Film Practices Workshop by Emily Vinson
Friday, February 7
Blaffer Art Museum is pleased to offer Studio Sessions the first Friday of every month from 10:00am-1:00pm. Join drop-in tours, enjoy free light bites, and better connect with Blaffer Art Museum and its current exhibitions. Blaffer partners with the William R. Jenkins Architecture, Design, & Art Library to host a Pop-Up Library at each event, where students can check out art books and supplies.
This session, Blaffer will conduct a hands-on workshop on archival film practices with Emily Vinson, Audiovisual Archivist and curator of the KUHT and KUHF Collections at the University of Houston Libraries Special Collections. Students will get the opportunity to handle archival films reels and learn about film history in conjunction with Gareth Long: Kidnappers Foil, and Mariam Ghani: What We Left Unfinished.
Students from every major are encouraged to stop by and join the fun!
