Gratitude & Learning: Closing Program, Cian Dayrit: Liberties Were Taken

As part of the closing weekend of the exhibition Cian Dayrit: Liberties Were Taken at the Blaffer Art Museum. The exhibition maps land dispossession, displacement, and harm to the land and body as part of colonial and neoliberal projects in the Philippines. The community is invited those who recognize the shared struggles and practices of resistance in the continuance of U.S. militarization and imperialism and their global connections.

For the Closing Program we are inviting folks for a Community Potluck starting at 12:00PM, please list your dish or offerings here!

Following the potluck, we will move towards Coordinates of Belonging: Gratitude and Learnings Circle convened by Lualo  at 2:00 pm in FA 110. Please join us in a story circle to recap the conversations we’ve had throughout the summer.

Let’s come together for a potluck lunch where we can enjoy each of our offerings. Please let us know what dish or offering you plan to bring by listing it here. Your contributions will make this gathering even more special!

2:00 PM – Coordinates of Belonging: Gratitude and Learnings Circle –  Fine Arts Classroom 110

Following the potluck, join us for a story circle led by Lualo. This will be a time to reflect on the joys, challenges, and connections we’ve experienced throughout the exhibit. Your insights and stories will be invaluable as we recap our summer’s journey together. Past attendees, please feel free to bring photos, prints, mats, or maps you’ve created from the programming. Artists who have been a part of the counter-mapping workshop since March are of course also welcome to share their reflections on their artistic practice, past workshops, and also update the community on what is upcoming for the rest of the year.
