Blaffer Art Museum invites you to join us for the family-friendly Best of Summer Arts—a series of three art-making demonstrations inspired by the annual Summer Arts Workshops for children ages 6-12. Watch artist Rona Lesser give three 30-minute demonstrations reprising popular projects that are partly inspired by past museum exhibitions.
Rona Lesser is an artist and educator who primarily works in watercolor, maintaining a studio at Sawyer Yards artist complex in Houston and exhibiting her works both locally and nationally. She has extensive experience in instructing studio art to children, and as a museum educator.
In addition to her more than 15 years as a docent at Blaffer Art Museum, Lesser has been lead teacher at the museum’s Summer Arts Workshops and taught children’s art classes at City Artworks for more than 20 years. She has been a visiting artist in schools through Young Audiences, Project Grad, and the former Texas Institute of Arts and Education. Additionally, Lesser has served on the board of the National Women’s Caucus for Art for over 15 years and is currently S.W. Regional Chair.
