46TH MFA Thesis Opening Reception

Join us for the opening reception of the University of Houston School of Art 46th Annual MFA Thesis Exhibition.
Each spring the Blaffer Art Museum and the University of Houston School of Art proudly present the work of the Masters of Fine Arts degree candidates from the school’s five studio programs: Graphic Design, Interdisciplinary Practices and Emerging Forms, Painting, Photography/Digital Media, and Sculpture. The exhibition showcases bodies of work produced in a studio intensive environment over the three-year degree program.

Convergence Research: Luca of the Dream
Multidisciplinary artist Daniel E. Zamora combines storytelling, sound engineering, projection art and music in Luca of the Dream, for this month’s Convergence Research. Reality blends with the mystical, as Luca, a fox from a spirit realm, weaves tales inspired by love, addiction, time, and joy. Through captivating soundscapes and Daniel’s lived experiences, these stories traverse imagination and introspection, igniting profound insights.

BAMSA Red Block Bash

This Spring’s BAMSA Red Block Bash will take place in the Fine Arts Courtyard—participate in creating a chalk art mural, collaborate with student organizations, and head inside the museum to see the 46th MFA Thesis Exhibition!
BAMSA welcomes university students from all academic disciplines who share a passion for the arts and are interested in meeting like-minded peers. BAMSA was founded in 2005 with the goal to increase student participation in the museum community, enabling students to enrich their educational experience and the museum to reach an important audience. Today, BAMSA builds a creative community open to students across disciplines that sparks students’ quest for knowledge and pursuit of artistic endeavors.
