BAMSA Biannual | Grounded Within
Monday, November 3-Friday, November 7
Gallery Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Location:
Project Space, on the 4th floor of the Fine Arts building
What do experiences of inclusion, exclusion, or the tension between the two look like? How does it feel to exercise autonomy or find community? What does it mean to conform to or challenge the systems and structures that govern a sense of belonging? As this exploration continues, what remains to be Grounded Within?
Constructing a sense of belonging is a nonlinear and dynamic experience. Belonging is not found at a singular time or space; rather it is a fluid process of unveiling and pursuing different facets of oneself. The 8 artists featured in this exhibition present deeply authentic works reflecting their own explorations of this process across culture, community, identity, transition, and countless more.
The scope of this exhibition extends beyond its physical walls. BAMSA’s Fall 2025 Biannual, “Grounded Within ___” extends an invitation to overlap with individual tracings, be in an ever-evolving conversation with the artists, and discover what might fill in the blank.
