Hub New Music is in residence at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. For this month’s Convergence Research, Hub members Meg Rohrer, Michael Avitabile, Jesse Christenson and Gleb Kanasevich will perform works by University of Houston student composers inspired by the current Blaffer Art Museum exhibition Intimate confession is a project.

Composers include Hossein Aminzadeh, Luke Brinkley, Evan Kunkel, Jaime Morales, Larry Penna, Benjamin Petree and Eric Estrada Valadez.

Convergence Research is a collaboration between the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts and the Blaffer Art Museum that supports students and faculty in the McGovern College of the Arts to explore connection and collaboration between the disciplines in the arts and beyond. This season, Convergence Research is curated by Mitchell Center Graduate Assistant Ji Won Chun. The Graduate Assistantship is a yearlong position designed for a graduate student in the Arts Leadership Program.

Co-presented with the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts and curated by the Mitchell Center graduate assistant, the Blaffer Art Museum hosts evenings of ongoing interdisciplinary research, experimentation, improvisation, and performance.
