Convergence Research: Intercultural Theatre Experiment
Date:
Wednesday, October 18, 2023 | 6pm-7pm
Location:
Blaffer Art Museum cafe
Format:
This month’s Convergence Research will be presented in two unique sessions.
Khanthida Mounivong, a second year graduate student in Theatre Studies (pictured left) will introduce the Intercultural Theatre Experiment. This experiment focuses on the question of whether it is possible to create a cultural exchange in fair terms. Originally from Laos, Mounivong is focused on crafting her dramaturgical skills and researching various intercultural theatre practices.
Stephanie Cuyubamba Kong, an MFA student in the School of Art (pictured right), will present in the second session. Kong is a Peruvian-American artist, musician, and educator working within the act of constructing identities — self, cultural, community, and national — using theory of aesthetics, memories, and affect.
Convergence Research is a collaboration with the Blaffer Art Museum and is curated by Graduate Assistant Ji Won Chun.
